Gifts for Couples

A Couples Gift

Gifts for couples? This topic generally relies on your relationship with the couple. You wouldn't get someone you have not seen in five years a crystal dining set, but you might get them a nice vase. But if you are the Best Man or the Brides Maid, you may want to get them matching white gold Rolexes. So really you have to divide this by how well you know them, whether it is not very well, you are close with the bride and/or groom, or if you are related to them.

If you are at the wedding, and you are just friends with the bride or groom, and you aren't really sure what they will like, try and be safe with the gift. What that means, is try not to personalize it. Get them a serving dish, or some silverware. Try not to go out of control, but still make it something they will remember you by. Another safe thing to get is office or house décor, wall or desk clocks, throw pillow (black and white match everything) etc.

Now then, if you are a close friend of the couple, then try and make the gift special, and unique. You of all people know them best; you should know what they would like best. If you know they are more athletic, or outdoorsy, then give them a gift certificate to a sporting goods store, or if you know that one of them is an excellent cook, then spices work perfectly. If you are the Best Man or the Brides Maid, then definitely make your gift worth while. Something a bit more pricey or sentimental then the usual gift. Make your gift more personalized, and not figuratively. Some suggestions are monogrammed bath towels, or monogrammed wine glasses. Or as I stated earlier, some white gold custom engraved his/her Rolexes.

If you are related to the couple in any way, try and get something that you know they will use. If you are the parents, then try and get something that your son/daughter in law will enjoy. It is always nice to try and maintain a stable relationship with your child's partner for life. After all, now it is up to them to take care of each other, and you are going to have to deal with it one way or another, so you might as well like it. Some examples are personalized jewelry, or matching sets. Another one requires research and appears be a little odd, but it is a tradition starter, look up the family tree on both sides of the family, then she then unite at the base with the couples names. If you are the brother or sister, then get something that pertains to your sibling's interest. Write them a poem full of childhood memories, and unforgettable moments, and then top it off with a beautiful custom frame.

What ever you get, for whoever you get it for, just remember, you are going to be a part of their lives, and for you to be able to participate in such a ceremony is an honor and deserves the respect and gratitude of someone like you.
