Getting A Gift for the Groom

Looking for a Present for the Groom?

If you are a friend of the groom, my guess is that you aren't thrilled about giving him and his new wife a fabulous new set of pillowcases or one plate of the china set they registered for. Relax, there are some great gift options that even the groom will appreciate!

BBQ Set - Most men will love a new set of BBQ toys. A group of friends could even get together and give the couple an entire new BBQ - he'll love it and she'll love the break from the kitchen!

Experiences & Food - We all know men love food. Give them a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant and give the gift of a night out together. Or go one more step and give them an "experience" - gift certificates to go kayaking together, rent snowmobiles for a day, etc. Be creative - they may need the new sheet set - but they'll love a gift where they can just enjoy being together!

Electronics - Couples rarely register for electronics. A word of warning for this one - make sure you get a gift receipt, or just buy them a gift card. It will give him an excuse to make that extra trip to his favorite electronics store.

Tools - A good old stand-by for most men - help him set up his work station in the garage. Ask around and find out what tools he has and which ones he still needs (but always include a gift receipt).

A note for brides: Make sure to let your fiancé register for things that he likes too. The majority of gift registries are for household goods, the common dish sets, cutlery, placemats, sheets and towels. Everyone needs these things, and you'll get them…but it's important to make sure that he has fun in the process too!
